But the interesting thing about it is how many republicans are using their opposition to it as a way to distance themselves from Bush.

Mr. Google, welcome back. Sometimes I think this maybe Karl Rove's political brilliance at work where he knows that Bush will not be facing the electorate again but his Republican Congress buddies will in Novenber 2006. Hence this maybe a setup to make the Republicans look good to their constituents.

Anything is possible in the myriad world of politics.
