Clearly it is not 'axiomatic', otherwise they would not put out a release stating that material information may be discussed. Also, the Q&A has often (in the past) resulted in at least a reaffirmation of existing guidance, in the form of 'I'm not changing guidance' from Rivet.

And this time, in particular, Ruiz is bound to get lots of questions about demand, pricing, share gains, etc.

If they were going to raise guidance, I'd agree it is somewhat likely (50% ?) they would put out a release before Ruiz mentioned it, as opposed to after.

But it is very likely that material information will come up in the Q&A, if not in his prepared remarks.

brushwud,

It is axiomatic that no material new information will be announced at his presentation.

I would not expect Hector to change guidance at this event, such as flat to slightly down to something else, but he could say that "those CPUs that we said we would ship for revenue this quarter are currently shipping for revenue".

Joe

Brushwud: OT, but I'm thinking you're liking the STX July $25 contracts you picked up a few months back. I trust I'm off the hook for any lunch, not sure if anything flowed the other way. A drink at some future AMD (or STX) to the Moon get-together sounds about right.
