Plasma has a limited life... it degrades over time. Who wants that, every time you turn it on is ever so slightly worse than the last time? It's not as "bright" as LCD, whatever that means. Plasma is more fragile... jar it you are out of luck. And I think there is a burn in issue.

I've got two 2 LCD's, one doubles as a 27" PC monitor, the other pure TV, both work great. Im sure there is some advantage to Plasma... but I don't know what it is.


I think Plasma has had the edge when it came to possible screen size, color and viewing angle. However, I think that is changing.....plus LCD is better in other categories. Here is a useful comparison:
