Certain elements on the right, to repeat myself just "hate",

No need to repeat yourself. Any one who has read your posts knows that you believe that rabid right is full of hate and that you will never mention the left wing's foibles.

personal smears

Hmmm....whatever...you're not capturing what I have been saying.

Re: Hillary's political skills.

I disagree. She won a senatorial race in 2000 going away. And her NY state favorables continue to improve.

I think two things are problems for her should she choose to run for the Dem nomination in 08 and the presidency. First, is her wooden platform speaking style.

I always thought that being able to deliver a rousing speech was a political skill. My comment concerning her lack of such skills encompassed this deficit, but there are others, lack of empathy, etc., which I did not want to mention. My comment is a big tent for a lot of her failings as a pol.

And New York does not a country make. She cherry picked it as a place where she could win. Not a bad tactic if one is running for Senator, but larger and different considerations apply nationally, as you should surely know.

Bush has been among the worst, if not the worst,

I thought rampant partisanship was verboten here. In any event, we all know how you feel.

In addition, however, to date, she looks better than anyone the Reps could put forward

If he keeps his temper and stays smart, I reckon McCain would win 55-60% of the vote against Hillary and probably 350-400 electoral votes.

Anyone who comes to the table with 40%+ negatives, especially in the swing states, is several steps behind the more moderate frontrunners at this point.

I vaguely recall some poll data I posted to that effect long ago.
