I appreciate most of your sentiments Rich. And thanks for thinking enough of my POV to share it elsewhere.

<< "I thought this response and your other responses were.... of an advocate nature." >>

To a great extent they were Rich. Anyone who has followed this thread & my postings elsewhere on SI knows that ultimately I am a strong advocate for the truth.

My responses to you were my express opinions based on a lengthy examination of hundreds, if not thousands of independently verifiable facts & credible evidence, much of which is documented on this thread.* Those responses were not based on "feelings" or emotions or devotion to an ideology.

RE: #1 - I have already addressed that. While you are correct on what the MSM & DNC don't do, I must strenuously disagree with you on why you believe they aren't even coming close to accurately informing the public on matters of substance.

There is no getting around it. Among the top priorities of leading DNC politicians & journalists in the MSM to accurately inform the public of all relevant facts & evidence pertaining to the significant issues we face today. They are virtually worthless to society if they consistently get it wrong on matters of substance. But it's gotten much worse than that as I've already discussed.

I have already explained, we're talking about a well established trend - from the minute a story breaks the MSM & DNC immediately become hysterical, then move into scurrilous calumny. They intentionally mislead the public on almost every detail & continue to do so long after their acts of treachery & have been thoroughly discredited.

The MSM & leading DNC politicians do have large staffs whose main responsibility is to gather this information, fact check it & update it as time & events unfold. And both have more than adequate resources (multiple gov't agencies & private think tanks, other media outlets, experts in the field, to name a few) from which they draw from to quickly gather & update critical facts & evidence. They have state of the art equipment that enhances the process. They are NOT overwhelmed, understaffed, under equipped or ill informed. More often than not these public figures know full well they are intentionally misleading the public from the very start. The longer a story is out there & more facts emerge, the more obvious it becomes what is going on as they relentlessly remain on the wrong side of the facts & evidence.

*And consider this. I'm able to quickly gather relevant facts & evidence once a story breaks. I update it as time & events unfold. I do this for almost every major story the MSM & DNC hysterically misreports. And somehow I consistently get the facts straight as I update each story timely & accurately. And it's but one of many things I accomplish at my leisure.

The MSM & DNC with their huge staffs & massive resources are paid to do precisely what I'm doing in my spare time. Yet they have amassed a horrifically pathetic record from the "stolen election" of 2000 to the latest "Bush lied" about Katrina & all points in between.

There simply is no excuse to justify what is so well documented over so long a period of time.

RE #2 - << "ethics and integrity: .... concluded that corruption, .... misstatements, puffing, etc is the way most of the world works in most of the societies in business, politics etc. Politicians here are no different nor editors..... So yes, I agree with you on their knowledge generally and state of mind but such is the way of the world. One must counter it but not get mad about it." >>

Sorry, but I'm finally getting mad enough to rant about it because it is so over the top ridiculous. The fact that something like this is happening with the widespread use of the internet & the success of the alternate media is mind boggling. If a regular Joe like me can get it right quickly, accurately & consistently, surely the MSM & DNC knows full well how utterly & horrifically wrong they have been for a long, long time. Yet they persist undaunted.

The "everybody else does it" excuse rings hollow. That smacks of moral equivalence. What I'm addressing is so audacious it is virtually unmatched in history. Can you name a comparable time where over a period of nearly 6 years where a disloyal opposition party & the fourth estate (MSM) have relentlessly misled a nation at war with virtually no serious backlash?

We're not talking about the occasional moral or ethical lapse. We're talking about a long series of well documented instances where the public has been intentionally misled in the face of a preponderance of contrary evidence. This has happened on numerous matters of substance. Along the way there have been repeated acts of treachery that have placed our national security at risk while we were at war. There have been overt attempts to use these stories to unseat a sitting President during an election.

Not once since the "stolen election" myth of 2000 has the MSM or DNC gotten one of these issues mostly correct from start to finish. Not even close. Not once since then has the MSM or DNC admitted how horrifically wrong they were or even attempted to adequately correct the record. Yet here we are today & even that first myth still rears it's ugly head from time to time in the media or from a Dem politico (As do almost every one of the other discredited fables since then).

Rich, there are probably a thousand excuses that can be offered for the utterly pathetic litany of material misstatements made by the MSM & DNC regarding the Bush Admin. None of them alter or mitigate the fact they did so while in possession of a preponderance of facts & credible evidence that thoroughly discredited their intentional calumny. That they knowingly violated the public trust on serious matters of substance cannot be simply excused or explained away.

And I'll say this again too. The MSM & DNC have ample staffs, resources & equipment dedicated to staying on top of all major current issues. The MSM regularly reminds us about their multiple layers of fact checkers & editors, their objectivity, their ethics & lack of bias.

This isn't another case of bias run amok. as I said several posts ago, "I'd say that ego, elitism, desperation, denial & a large dose of groupthink mentality gets you to "why"."
