DC-Northern Virginia is one of the perfect bubble examples. (Today, the Union and Confederate armies couldn't get a parking place, much less fight the Battle of Manassas.) Silicon Valley may have been the worst. Right now in the west we have California tax refugees moving to the surrounding states and driving real estate prices through the roof. (Imagine a real-estate bubble in IDAHO for Chissakes!) It's cooling off now, but last year I was hearing about investing firms from CA buying lots of 10 from contractors who had barely laid the footings. That's the kind of bubble that can't endure...
