Tehran fears no attack from US
By Habib Toumi, Bureau Chief

Manama: A senior Iranian minister said that God was helping Iran to defend its identity and preserve its rights, stressing that his country feared no attack from either the United States or Israel because both know that the retaliation would cost them dearly.

"We don't believe that the US is considering an attack despite its hostile policy and Israel does not want to attack Iran because it fully realises the consequences of such an act and will not make this mistake," Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Moustafawi told reporters on Saturday evening.

"According to international laws, the US cannot attack us, and our ability to meet US challenges is built on a belief in our rights, the power of our people and Islamic values," he said, but added that "Iran wanted to have good relations with all countries, except Israel".
