David Brooks on Matthews yesterday talking about how crazies are causing havoc in iraq but that they are run by elites and there is still time for a deal. Things may have to really go to the brink of civil war before all parties realize united iraq is in all their interests. The group that worries me most are the shiaa who seem to be amivalent about a unified iraq and perhaps more interested in a shiaa arab state in the South. I would warn them that they might become a vassal of persia but i might be wrong given the oil in the South.
