There is no cap on property taxes for residents of DC? Like Prop 13 or SOH in Florida?

Perhaps even DC can have a bubble? I hope so. But will the downside be like everyone elses? Or will congress pass legislation to save them in some way? A lot of them maintain residences there.

You're experiencing one of the downsides of a bubble for areas that don't have Prop. 13, skyrocketing values and corresponding tax basis re-asessments.

I hired some pros in CA to contest my tax asessment there, but having seen what they did, I could do it now. You just find the lousiest comps in your neighborhood that have sold recently and present them to the tax board, claiming YOUR house is just like them, or worse.
