We and the British did everything we could to make sure the Nazis didn't get enough of the materials they needed to make a bomb. Hitler also didn't place a high priority on developing nuclear weapons. Tanks, planes and guns came first. And, apparently that was fine with the German scientists. They were apprehensive about Nazis with nuclear weapons...

Germany had all the pieces they needed by 1942. If Hitler had decided he wanted a bomb, and the needs of the war hadn't of interfered, they could have had a Little Boy-style bomb soon after that.
