Then who are all those people in the occupied territories? There are all sorts of different myths/stories of why they left/fled, but are you saying that they all were paid for their land? If so, why was there such a fear of the concept of "right of return" and compensation?
Right of return was taken off the table even before final negotiations. That most likely would have been one of the points Palestinians would have traded for something.

I am glad to know that all those people who fled/left in 48/49 fled after they were paid for their land. They must have just made poor investments in the stock market. (g)

Steve.. I will engage in a logical discussion with anyone who avoids rhetoric and bombast as the basis of the arguments.

Len obviously has a bias against Israel and that's understandable because I have a few axes to grind with them as well over their actions against US military forces.

But the past is the past.. We have to figure out the future based upon sound and logical facts from the past.

Believe me, the issue over US backing of Israel would be far more difficult if there were any Arab democracies worth their salt present in the region.

Thus, flawed and onery as they are, Israel is the only democracy in the region and it must be defended.
