At least TRMB isn't so dead that NOBODY reads the board. I just posted that question to qualify for the $1000 prize that was slated for the 22,222,222 th post on SI. I was only 24 posts off, with 22,222,198.

A project I was responsible for used a lot of Trimble receivers in Alaska. They worked very well. The only time our locations were off by more than a few meters was when the field people overruled the fix because of their interpretation of aerial photo position. It was their mistake. You have to know where you are starting from in order to get where you are going.

I owned TRMB for a while. Never did anything.
