The person who delivers the SOTU has final say over the text.

I just reread the SOTU. I have no real problems with it's content. I read it quickly and this is my exception

"Keeping America competitive requires affordable health care. (Applause.) Our government has a responsibility to provide health care for the poor and the elderly,"
whitehouse.gov

In general Keeping America competitive has little to do with providing any health care. Keeping America competitive does require not allowing health care to suck capitol resources away from genuine productive uses.

It should not be Our government's responsibility to provide health care for any citizen for normal disease and illness.
