How wealth is concentrated in China? The latest data from China indicates: in 2003, there were 236,000 richest Chinese who had individual financial asset of US$1 million or more. They counted for only 0.0183% of the total Chinese population (about 1.292 billion), but hold a total of US$0.969 trillion wealth.

In the same year, the total GDP of China was US$1.4 trillion. So that means, the wealthiest 0.0183% of Chinese had assets equals to 69.2% of the total national GDP.
