Peter, All of the casinos I frequent advertise referral services for problem gamblers. That said, I am well aware that this is PR window dressing and probably decreases a casino's liability if something should find its way into the judicial system (which has happened).

Gambling has an entertainment value that must be considered and not discounted. Also, the more one gambles, whether or not one wins or loses, the more freebies forthcoming from the casinos. FWIW, the only freebies I avail myself of are the free drinks served while I am playing.

I set a monetary limit for myself. When that has been played with no wins, or if I win modestly or win big, I take myself over to the bar or buffet and buy my own dinner and drinks.

I will agree with Laz on this one: None of those palaces was built on winners. - Holly
