We are going through great losses and hardships in order to prevent Saddam's Iraq from becoming a - hostile - superpower. The bottom line is that if Iran is allowed to pull this off, then the entire campaign against Saddam makes no sense. So, I think there will be a lot of forceful resistance to Iranian nukes. Especially since the entire world seems to take this seriously.

Arab regimes are a pretty tough bunch... they'll spin it whichever way they'll think would be in their favor.

What do you think the reaction in Iran would be? Think it would lead to Mullahs decline, or solidify their grasp. I'm worried about my stock holdings, and might shift more to cash.

I doubt we would invade. Only bomb. Unfortunately, I doubt that is very effective long term. I suspect they have many centrifuges in places we are clueless about. Once we bomb, we will know even less, and 5-years from now they have the bomb anyway, while we pay $100/B for oil in between. I don't see any good solutions, other than if somehow the moderates get power and the Mullahs get their butts kicked. But how best to achieve that is a problem.
