Yeah, it bothers me a bit as well. Still, it's probably worth remembering that major turns sometimes come without sentiment extremes. Just before the market rolled over in August/Sept 2000, for example, the II Sentiment ratio took a dive (down to about 57).

Having said that, I wouldn't really like to see the S&P500 -- as an example -- get back above 1290 for more than a day or two at the most.
