Won't the GAAP numbers for previous years be revised to show a valid comparison with previous years?

To all you QCOM fans:

Today's the day to get your picks in for the portfolio management game. Check out the header and a few recent posts (which have other's picks) to get the idea. Post any questions to that thread, but get your picks in before market open Wednesday if you wanna play.

C2, Re: QCOM GAAP / proforma EPS and “Dividends are not paid on a pro forma basis and I don't think p/e is calculated on that basis, either. vbg.”

I believe I read in one of Goldman Sachs notes re: Broadcomm’s potential GAAP “hit”, that only about 5% of the “analyst” community use GAAP in their official EPS estimates.

To Qualcomm’s credit, they are very open (transparent) is reporting both and reconciling in detail the differences between the two. In fact , at the ASM, Bill Keitel went into considerable detail discussing such.

OTOH, Broadcom IMO went to great lengths to obscure their GAAP numbers, only discussing such when asked by the GS analyst.
