Desertions are up since Bush-cheney blew it in Iraq. Of course no one would desert right after 9-11. We were ALL ready to fight for our country after 9-11. Up until Bush changed the subject to Saddam. That's when the trouble began.

It was the worst and most dishonest decision a prez has made since LBJ decided to escalate Vietnam. Bush needs to be punished for it. LBJ at least had the decency to withdraw from the 1968 and let Robert Kennedy take over, to end the war. But then the rightwing killed their second Kennedy. So the war continued and kept escalating under Nixon.

Let me tell you, if you think the troops back Bush-cheney anymore, you're nuts. I'll bet thousands of them would like to frag Bush-Cheney-Rummy and all the rest. They are MIS-leaders and Bush is the worst commander in chief in modern times.

Bush-Cheney exploited and lied to our troops. They have used them as campaign props more times than all previous administrations combined. Yet what was the payback?

Bush-Cheney lied to the troops. They sent them into a warzone, promising them it would be easy and they'd be home within months. They told them Saddam was an imminent threat to the US with tons of WMD. They told them Saddam was allied with Al Qaida and had something to do with 9-11. They told them democracy was the key to the Middle East and making the US safer. They even claimed the war would bring down gas prices and that Iraqi oil would pay for everything. Plus, they claimed they had a huge coalition of the willing, which actually included tiny nations which had no military.

Next, once things turned bad, Bush-Cheney did not supply the troops with proper armor. They covered up their deaths and maimings and claimed there was no problem. Bush-cheney were forced not to cut the troops health care benefits. They wanted to. But they're still cutting veterans benefits.

Our troops are great and loyal, but the one thing they ask is that the commander in chief and his people be smart, think things out, be honest with them and don't send them into quagmires like Vietnam and Iraq. Bush-cheney have betrayed the troops. They also betrayed them by lying about Kerry, who is the #1 supporter of veterans rights in the senate, and a leader who knows how to plan and win wars.
