re: we'll just have rely on Iraq more and offer Russia more money for Russian oil. Our reserves are currently way above 2 years. And if that would push us to hydrogen fuel cell that may actually help our economy by creating jobs and potentially increasing exports.

re: global economy would make it so much harder for embargo. Severe recession in US would cause severe recession in the rest of the world including arab countries. SA can not afford not to sell oil to US - we might just withdraw our troops and watch the execution of royal family on our TVs.

Our troops are pretty much gone from SA.

re: Arab embargo of oil is so improbably that is not even worth discussing......

Far less improbable than getting nuked by Iran.
