The almost perfect elimination of polio occurred because the process involved inexpensive and easy methods. A sugar cube or an injection and wam bam your protected.

Aids is a expensive to treat and requires personal responsibility for a life time, there is no wam bam protection and on rare ocassions it can be caught by accident.

The only sure fire method to achieve polio like results is 100% testing, expensive and then termination if detection is confirmed. I don't expect any will be stepping up to achieve polio like eradication of Aids.

Your aids to polio analogy is dumb.

And Especially Trouble E.T. is univerally dumber than a bag of hammers, so your intent may be worthy but poor on the logic and a waste of time on the intended.

rough_cut_gemstone, The defeat of polio did not come easily, or quickly. They did not get the disease from actions that I consider to be amoral, and unnatural. That, however, does not include the children with AIDS. They are innocent.

We can stop the spread of AIDs only if the adults choose to use the proper precautions. Until they clean up their own actions, there will be no stopping AIDS, and the children will continue to suffer because of their lack of caring enough to practice safe sex, and using dirty needles in drug use.

There are ways to ease the agony, and pain, of the disease, but until they wake up and smell the coffee, there will be no prevention either medically, or personally, and no way to cure it when one gets it.
