Because I know that that message is displayed at any frequency if bios is not updated and I also saw it OC to 3GHz without having any problems in recognizing processor You have a DFI RD480 motherboard and FX-60 processor as well to confirm this? interesting that amdzone have fx60 perform better without overclocking than intel's overclocked system Where is the link, in which benchmark(s), at what settings?
