8,000 troops in Iraq have deserted under Bush-Cheney. That is a fact. The article says that's down from 9-11. But who the hell would have deserted around 9-11? That's when guys were signing up. Like Pat Tillman. That's before everyone realized what a poor and dishonest commander in chief Bush is, and what a greedy, reckless corrupt liar Cheney is.

You also say the Army Spokesman said these desertion rates are no big deal. She works for Rummy. What do you expect her to say? it's called spin. Under Bush, our Pentagon rarely if ever tells the truth about anything. If they can avoid it anyway.

if you want the truth, listen to John Murtha. He says our army is so strained and stressed now that we are badly weakened as a nation. We could not fight a second front if we wanted to. We have played right into the terrorists' hands by weakening ourselves. Or what if China attacked us? We'd have no way to defend ourselves. Our equipment is all worn out, and so are our troops. But there's no point to being in Iraq anymore. Military divorce rates are up 70% this year over last. So no wonder a lot of guys desert. Why die for an inept liar like Bush? There's no point anymore.
