Arab food chains should go global
By Shakir Husain, Staff Reporter

Dubai: Successful Arab food chains should look at possibilities of franchising their businesses outside the region as the popularity of Middle Eastern cuisine grows, an expert said.

There is potential for established food companies to explore opportunities to export fast-food concepts, International Franchise Association (IFA) vice-president for international development Marcel Portmann said.

"Middle East food has great appeal and there are large Arab immigrant communities in the West," Portmann told Gulf News at the opening of the three-day Franchise Middle East exhibition here yesterday.

Tell that to Clinton. He didn't go the route of the UN in solving the Serbian/Albanian issue did he? He went to NATO.
