The gulf coast serves the entire south land. Where do you think the corn and wheat from the great midwest get shipped from and through? The industrial output of the upper midwest? Where do you think the great jazz music comes from? Who else in the world knows how to throw a Mardi Gras? Where is the sea food center of the south east? Is there another more important oil and gas region? And for those reasons people and businesses will flock to that area to rebuild. When the federal government steps into help the Gulf Coast, they step up to the plate for every American and every state in the union. United we stand...divided we fall. Believe it or not this country did very well before Federal government became the behemoth that it is. Americans don't need the Federal government to live their lives.
