How far can AMD differentiate itself from Intel?

Let's take VIIV as an example. Look at the IDF presentations. There's a lot there where Intel is forming partnerships with a LOT of companies to provide enablers for new capabilities. Is AMD content to have only the dregs of these relationships? Can AMD provide the resources to enable these capabilities for AMD processors? Can they afford to be left behind? What about the PRO platform? How do you combat branding?

The architecture differentiation is good but Intel could duplicate that (under contract?).
