I have included many disclaimers about the accuracy of the tests in my posts. Just because test conditions may be unfair doesn't automatically mean they are inaccurate. If Conroe doesn't appear to be what the early benchmarks claim Intel will be crucified for it later this year, which is why I believe chances are the benchmarks are reasonably accurate.

AMD has done a masterful job of PR blundering with the Socket AM2 samples. While sites like Anandtech are more than happy publishing early benchmarks from either party, Intel steps forward with a Conroe system ready for testing while AMD has a bunch of old underperforming Socket AM2 CPUs floating around which perform so poorly review sites are saving AMD the embarrassment of benchmarking them.

When AMD recently challenged Intel to a test in which each side could set up their own systems, Intel ran away and hid.
