I applaud your giving to Katrina Charities. But most people are not giving. This is the type of situation where federal assistance is needed. The states and private donations are falling well short of what is needed.

FEMA has become a big mountain of Bushie pork and cronyism. The tragedy is that they are privatizing most of it to cronies, many of whom follow Delay and Cheney's poor example and are thoroughly corrupt and only in it for themselves. That's why not much is getting done despite enormous expenditures.

This is Bush's fault. The buck stops at the top on this.
