What I am saying is that moralists rarely care about the stated problem. Instead, what they care about is imposing their view of morality on others. Many of the moralists who spout the line of 'abstinence is the only cure' aren't really interested in solving the problem. If they were, they would realize that we live in the real world, and that the solution must include more than preaching morality. It must include sex education, promotion of condom use, and removing the stigma of the disease, in addition to research towards finding a cure.

So, which are you: a moralist simply interested in looking down your nose at others, or someone genuinely interesting in fighting a terrible disease.
