New York Stock Exchange to begin trade

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock market futures declined Wednesday as Google Inc. inadvertently released a sales forecast that again led to questions over the sustainability of its growth and as overseas stock markets dropped. S&P 500 futures fell 3.9 points at 1,273.70 and the Nasdaq 100 futures eased 7.5 points at 1,658.00.

Google Inc. traded at $352 a share in Frankfurt, down over 3%, after the Internet search engine said it inadvertently released sales guidance that roughly equates to a forecast of a 57% rise in 2006 advertising revenue, in line with Wall Street forecasts.

Goldman Sachs lowered its price target on the company on the risk of slower affiliate growth.

it is challenging to be incredibly confident that critical things are being done well," Goldman said. .

This is very mildly put, akin to a not-so-strong buy from a strong buy. But the Goldman comment only confirms my view of a lack of professional behavior.

The broker also told clients that the company has made three "gaffes" in the last five weeks...that do not result in a material change in its view on growth or valuation .

Akin to 3 strikes and you are out. But for a bull it is obviously difficult to accept that growth / valuation issues are about to change or likely have changed.

Aftere all, everything is in control, Google still trading over 300.

This is the worst kind of analysis possible. Nitpicking on trivia, reducing price target by 2% to reflect a reduction in estimates by 2% - thereby giving a larget PE for lower growth, blah blah blah. And these guys get paid?
