We will see what Russia does. Only by observing the results can we reconstruct what they have done. We are a ways away from that. Hamas will do the same thing that Arafat and Mazen did. (No I do not mean play lion and hyena with his guards.) They will pretend to be diplomatic while maintaining terrorist organizations. We can expect it to take several months before they are able to start to do this. Will they give speeches in English and then completely different ones in Arabic? It would take them a while to ramp up the level of subterfuge. Consider the alternative. It would actually be refreshing to have an honest Palestinian government. The more bellicose they become, the more justifiable Israel is in dealing with them effectively.
