Perhaps making each line item stand on its own merit rather then filling transportation bills with a gazillion dollars worth of BS that have nothing to do with transportation.

Tim, As Oral said, until we have a line veto to clean up the pork barrel things that Congressmen, and Senators, stuff bills with, they will continue to pass money around to try and buy, the votes in their districts. I am definitely for term limits. Just think about it. With term limits we would have been rid of Teddy Kennedy years ago.

Agreed that spending is too high. Increasing taxes to close the budget would work too. It would destroy the economy and induce a new wave of misery before people finally realized that spending must decline with tax declines.

IMHO the trade deficit is a major concern as well. We cannot keep exporting dollars; eventually every debtor has to pay their banker, or has to take the punishment for defaulting.
