Eracer re Rahul=conspiracy theorist: Um, no. He makes his living, in real time, based largely on processor choices to recommend to his customers.

I'll take his credibility before Anand's any day.

re: Pathetic

Why are you so upset when someone questions intel's honesty? Intel have not been honest with their benchmarking for .... I don't think they have ever been honest, so why do you think that this year would be different?

eracer, the article seems pretty well written.
If you think is pathetic, why don't you refute it point by point?

Pathetic. Several reviews which use Unreal Tournament 2004 and video cards at least as good as what was in that Tom's article show framerates well under 100 FPS for FX-55+ type hardware.
He "forgot" to mention those.

all of those test used a different resolution setting.

Don't get me wrong, Conroe looks like the real deal and I'm sure will put Intel back in the race performance wise - perhaps they will even enjoy a slight advantage. If the chip has a 10% performance advantage, do you think it will get more than a 10-20% price premium? more, if so, why? Keep in mind, the first fx60's were packaged in the 37th week of 2005 - I wonder what additional performance can be expected 12 months later? I wonder when Rahul's NDA expires?

You just don't get it, do you? If an NVida graphics card can achieve a higher frame rate at the same resolution as the ATI card, then the AMD CPU is not the reason for the lower frame rate. DUH!
