If people WANT to work beyond 65 and are able, more power to them, to me though people ought to have the opportunity to enjoy some personal freedom from work in their "golden" years. I dont have a problem with early retirement and SS kicking in when it does. Surely we have progressed beyond the 30's to a point where at least that can be offered.
As to health costs, IMHO about the only thing that can be done is to restrict lawsuits to those truly with merit and expand National health insurance (I think using Medicare would be the cheapest) to include ANYONE wishing to join but for sure anyone not working with those under the national retirement age of 65 to pay their full premium. This would put all those people into a huge POOL (thus spreading risk and reducing costs individually)and strenghtening the pool to boot by including younger people. jdn
