Barry Goldwater would be alarmed. He might be. He was libertarian as well as conservative, and Bush is not a "small government conservative". I'm not quite sure I am actually alarmed, but I am disappointed. Cutting taxes was a accomplishment. Unfortunately it is undermined by lack of restraint on spending. Both combined would have been a serious accomplishment. trying to merge government with evangelical type right wing religion, and all that encompasses. That's just silly. the supression of the free press Again not a reasonable statement.
