I think the button should read "Pretend to Ignore," if it's there at all. IHub doesn't have it. I don't think it has a useful purpose.

We've all seen the posts that say something like, "I'm putting you on ignore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

From what I've seen, most of those posters continue to read your posts and comment on them. I have one "fan" who comments on just about every post I make even though he went through the ritual of proclaiming as above about a year ago.

I would agree that an aging process on ignores would be more fair. Something like ignores in the last year.

That would be much more reasonable IMHO.
