Probably because CoD2 is more GPU bound than most other benchmarks so CPU performance increases are less noticeable. In the Anandtech FX-60 review the 955XE was basically as fast as the X2 4800+, FX-57, and FX-60. It's probably one of the few benchmarks they could mention the current P4 and not make it sound too bad. :)
