I do believe that, for many reasons most of them self-destructive non-Darwinian, our grandchildren will not have our life expectancy. It's already starting to decline due to obesity and other tendencies. I think that many of our post-war cherished ideas of life being ever better for future generations will prove to be nothing but fantasies. It's going to be tough sledding out there for them, very competitive and very violent unless there's a sea change and soon. Who knows, maybe the human species is structured to shine brightly and then self destruct in a few hundred thousand years. Oil appears to be like this so maybe we're going to be like oil.
