And you get the feeling that's the tip of the iceberg. What's going unreported in the rest of the country?

Maybe not much. Death and murder gets reported. Successful wedding parties, soccer matches between Shias and Sunnis, boring days in front of the shop don't make the news. I would doubt the average day for an Iraqi is worse (or even close to) what you see on the news.

I don't know. Are you seeing what we are seeing?

Besides, if there is an explosion in South Baghdad, do you think it doesn't bother the people in N. Baghdad. Plus, you never know when you will be a target whether you live in Baghdad, or in the rest of the country. That's almost worse than the actual explosions.

When I was in LA after the riots, it did me little good knowing that the fires were in S. LA. Those were very bad times, and I will never live through something like that again.

No, I think the Iraqi people are probably very near their wit's end with the trouble there. Its really too bad.....the rich already have fled to Jordan or Syria. Its the poor who are taking this abuse 24/7.
