Is your private house an asset?

It's a wasting asset that creates no future value. Accordingly, it isn't an investment and should never be thought of as one. It has to be regarded as a personal possession. What I've stated above is economic law. One studies these things at the university under the Theory or Rents.

Mine just eats money.

You won't really get to know that until house price appreciation stops.
