I think you are right - Europe should be worried about Iranian nukes no less than we - indeed, probably more. A time may come when - if they have riots in the streets again, they may come to feel that the rioters have protection from an Iranian nuclear umbrella.

"living through" the Iranian nukes is not an option. There would be no "through"... that would be with (upon?) us till the end of times. And the non-proliferation would be most likely over and done with.

Russians have a large Muslim population - which also includes a bunch of militant movements. They are dancing a very complicated dance, in which they have to be very tough -- and also nice and willing to cooperate - all at the same time. But they have the experience, they were doing this for centuries... so, good luck to them.

Pressure (and maybe action) by NATO would be the best... if it comes to that. But my guess is that Iranian guys will be smarter than Saddam. They will "blink"... and negotiate a deal... and try to continue their program in secret.
