08:36 IMOS Chipmos Technology: Expects Chipmos to exceed their estimates in Q4- Friedman Billings (6.92 )

Friedman Billings expects ChipMOS to exceed their revenue/pro forma EPS estimates of $128 mln/$0.15 and the consensus of $129.5 mln/$0.17 when it reports 4Q05 results Monday after the close. The firm notes the co upwardly revised its revenue/GM guidance range of $129-$132 mln/27%-29% in mid Jan versus its guidance provided in its 3Q conference call of $125-$127 mln/25%-27%. The firm continues to believe the co has entered the year with great momentum, as orders from Flash and driver I.C customers have continued to increase. To that end, they do not rule out upside to their above consensus '06 rev estimate of $594 mln. The firm says Capex will be up significantly YOY, to approx $400 mln in CY06; therefore possible downside to their current '06 GM estimate of 27.5% is a risk. They believe rev upside (driven by a better ASP environment as well as continued unit growth) should help offset the impact to margins. Overall, the firm continues to remain confident in their above-consensus '06 EPS estimate.
