Nobody was sane until after the Cuban Missile Crisis. Now we have insane iranians and their surrogates against paranoid israelis. Deterrence strikes me as something that wont work until there is a red phone in tehran and telaviv. And that will only come after they have been to the bring and back (hopefully back but with mullas and wacho president who knows). Thus israelis might feel it necessary to preempt.

Considering the upheaval in Israeli politics, I think it's much more likely that Israel would resort to using nukes (because it actually has them and rightwing war mongers to boot) than a 'muslim' bomb going off anytime in the future.

I think the current crop of 'world leaders' suck. They're much more likely to be worrying about joining the Carlyle group than in offering intelligent 'service' to their countries.
