You left one element out of your equation, the one that explains how Rahmatullah Hashemi and the Taliban are "terrorists." Al Qaeda = terrorists, fundamentalist Muslims, and (mostly) Arabs. Taliban = fundamentalist Muslims, and Afghanis. (I assume you realize that Afghanis are not Arabs?) Blowing up the Buddhas at Bamiyan was horrible, but not terrorism. Executing women (and men) for violation of Sharia law is horrible, but not terrorism. And we execute people, too. We just do it in a more "sanitized" fashion, in private, not in public.
