Are you sure that particular 'booby trap' wasn't 'left behind' by Bush I?

After all, he is the one who called off the attack only one or two days short of toppling Saddam... and then later called for the Kurds and Shiites to rise up in rebellion against the Dictator, promised them the support of the US if they did, and then DISGRACEFULLY stood by while they were slaughtered in the streets....

(Or, perhaps that 'booby trap' was fused even earlier, when the Reagan/Bush administration 'tilted' towards Saddam in his war against Iran, just as he was beginning to seriously lose ground and battles, and just as his regime was seriously threatened.)

He could have been removed from the scene in the Iran/Iraq War, or later in Desert Storm... and then wouldn't have been around anymore to trouble either Clinton, or Bush II....
