re: I think the US and the world has gotten better but I think government has gotten worse.

So what made the world and the US better?

re: The net result during his presidency was that the budget was more balanced than at any time in my lifetime. How much of that is do to Clinton is debatable, and balancing the budget, while usually a good thing, is far from the only issue I am concerned about.

OK, but if you can't give him credit, at least you can't BLAME Clinton for making it better... like you can Bush. Baby steps.

re: I'm not sure what you mean. GW is no libertarian. Neither was his father. Reagan was probably closer but that is a low hurdle to jump. All of the presidents since FDR where supporters of big government. Pointing out that Clinton was a supporter of big government while at the same time saying every recent president was too is hardly an example of being locked in to believing that the Republican presidents have been a bunch of libertarians.

Realize it or not, you have a strong Republican bias. Bush over Clinton, even though Clinton's results were closer to your ideology.

I just think you should be more honest. Which do you prefer, rhetoric or results?
