I think invading Iraq contributed heavily to the drop and his fear mongering policies in general contribute to it's current pointless flailing up and down through his terms. A real leader would have had us over 9/11 LONG ago (it was five years ago!), and the Dow would be to 15k by now, with us living in peace and prosperity. Terrorists are really no threat to us after facing down the Soviet Union for 50 years. The levels of fear and paranoia are unjustified.
