We need to go beyond debating an issue and look at the broader perspective. For example just here on this exchange you advised me that my question should be directed to the blogger and not to Tim.

I have posed a question to all such as to yourself also which I would like to believe prompted you to do some more research by way of opening up the link.

My issue is that as a nation we have taken partisanship to the extreme and it has affected this nation negatively.

In the ports deal, it is the UAE that wrested control of the situation and provided the leadership while our leadership (the Presidency and Congress included) kept bickering and threatening each other. Gone are those days when we were feared, respected, admired, emulated. And with the ports deal, the bickering continues with Schumer and Hillary pressing for a vote on an issue which is already dead.

Let us have a Congress that acts more responsibly and a President who is more Presidential by way of representing the country and not himself and his party. He needs to reach out to the opposition as well to his fellow Repubs in Congress. Threatening a veto such as on the ports deal gets us nowhere except to hand over leadership as we saw on the ports deal.

Indeed you are correct. The AP has issued a clarification on the matter (that by now most people are aware of).
