I agree with you on dubai. Perhaps having ports run by foreigners is stupid policy but singling out dubai is the type of xenophobic racism that the left is becoming good at.

Yeah... It's sad.. Dubai has been one of the more progressive countries in the region, but apparently not good enough to warrant increasing trade ties.

I have a feeling this is going to impact whether American companies are considered for future contracts over there, and that's likely to cost Americans some very lucrative jobs.

Funny thing though... I've always thought that "bush bashing" and this apparently racism against Arabs was something that only people like Geode and Sly were exhibiting...

But I got into a conversation the other night with a guy, and to make a long story short, although he seemed quite intelligent at first, in the face of some of the points I was making, he resorted to "bush bashing" and declared that we should have left Saddam in place because he knew how to preserve order...

I responded that his idea was interesting... I asked him if he was a fan of Pinochet....

The conversation ended at that point... ;0)
