<<<<Why is Matthews obcessed with Hillary...?
Why won't he give the other Dems a chance...?>>>>>

I suspect he does this because it's what the republicans want/tell/bribe him to do. It is the republicans dream that they will be able to run against Hillary in 08. I can understand why.

I have emailed Matthews several times about that. The only ones pushing Hillary are the Bushies. However, Hillary is a strong force. I just don't see her in the Whtie House or being the nominee.

Why is Matthews obsessed with Hillary? First off, you're right. He is. In simple terms, it's part of the fix. Think way back to Jesse Jackson during the time when, suddenly, he was become a strong force in American politics. He sorta liked him then. But when Jackson became 'too strong,' the fix came in and Matthews consistently downgraded him.

Bottom line? I think Matthews is a statist and will do whatever he can to preserve the state line (GE, of course, being part of it). He's also dangerous. Why? "Cause he has this perception of being "liberal," he's been attacked by GOPwingers as being "Liberal." Think about it. It ain't bad having someone like that on your side when you can pull him in, as needed. Hence, all of these strange, seemingly out-of-place pro-Bush statements.

Sadly, Matthews has become a tool. He is no longer his own man. Too bad, 'cause any former speechwriter for somebody else should indeed hunger for the moment when it's their own words that count for something, especially if that soemthing effects progresive change, that contributes toward a betterment of society--instead of the terrible trap of being 'bogged down' uttering somebody else's ideas in order to make somebody else look good.

Conclusion? Matthews needs a vacation!!!!!!!!

PS: Oh, by the way. The reason they want Hillary's name always being mentioned is that she becomes the perfect counterbalance by which GOPwingers can image against. I think the way to end this charade is for Bill Clinton to, today, immediately, announce his candidacy for the Democrat vice-presidency nomination. This would make the real Clinton the top voice for the Democrats and enable them to better beat down GOPwingerism.
